Thanks to all that participated in the 3DHP FTN project this year. Your contributions have been critical to the success of the project and the many resources developed. Below is a round-up of those resources and a call for your continued participation.
Culvert Mapping Good Practices Draft and Community Workspace
The draft 3DHP FTN Culvert Mapping Good Practices document was developed based on community surveys, workshops, and 3DHP FTN Interest Group discussions held through out the project year. 'Discussion' components have been provided in each section of the document for stakeholders to add their comments, observations, recommendations, questions, etc.. Stakeholders are encouraged to review and contribute so that we may publish the resource, as a living document, in the new project year.
Practical Steps for 3DHP Preparation Workshop Materials
The handout, presentations, results from the community survey and other materials from the 3DHP Preparation Workshop held at the NSGIC 2023 Annual Meeting are now available online.
3DHP FTN Critical Factors Updated
The Critical Factors (CFs) raised by the NSGIC community at the beginning of the 3DHP FTN project identified issues and opportunities related to the transition from NHD to 3DHP as the national hydrography dataset. The CFs were revisited with USGS this year and updated to identify how the 3D Hydrography Program has evolved with respect those issues and opportunities.
Project Participant 3DHP Activities Mapped to the Hydrography Requirements and Benefits Study (HRBS)
The state 3DHP Activity Summaries and the 3DHP FTN State, Regional, and National 3D Hydrography Activities Dashboard have been mapped to both the Mission Critical Activities (MCAs) and Business Cases (BCs) defined by the HRBS. User can now retrieve project information by the MCAs and/or BCs most relevant to their 3DHP initiative.

Participants are encouraged to provide or update information about their 3DHP and EDH activities using the detailed or brief form at the 3DHP Info Hub. Presentations and materials from 2023 3DHP FTN Info Forums and Interest Group Meetings are available at the NSGIC Knowledge Base.
Reminder - there is no 3DHP FTN Info Forum this month due to the holidays and other activities. Please keep your calendars marked for the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 3:00-4:30 pm E. We'll kick off the new project year, January 17, with a presentation from Jim Giglierano about Wisconsin's One Map plans to integrate 3DHP, NWI and CCAP land cover layers using NOAA Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funds. Watch for registration information early in January.
