    Happy New Year!

The State of Colorado Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in GIS next meeting, on January 14 at 3pm MST, will have conversations with five participants from the Lived Experience Library.

We hope that you can join us! The Lived Experience Library is designed to build a positive framework for conversations that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue. The goal is to create a productive framework for personal conversations that help challenge bias, reduce discrimination, prevent inaccessible design choices, and contribute to greater human connection. The Library will provide group discussions to build an understanding of accessibility, equity, and diversity and lead to more inclusive and innovative digital technology. These discussions may include storytelling, user experience feedback, and user demonstrations.

Feel free to share the information with others.

    Hey Everyone,

It's a last-minute invitation, but today, Monday, September 8, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm MST. We will have Gabe from the Lived Experience Library follow up on the last EDI CoP, walking through a few of our mapping applications that utilize assistive technology.

    More details:

In this session, we will have conversations with several participants from the Lived Experience Library, which aims to build a positive framework for conversations that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue. The goal is to create a productive framework for personal conversations that help challenge bias, reduce discrimination, prevent inaccessible design choices, and contribute to greater human connection.

In this engagement, there will be a demonstration with two screen reader users from the Community Steering Committee. The demos are to help continue to educate and grow awareness around assistive technology, showcase the expertise of those who utilize screen readers, the maneuvering that a screen reader needs to do when encountering inaccessible tech, and growing our empathy around the fact that we are all accessing digital content in various ways - and all of those ways should be accessible, inclusive and equitable.
